Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles struck the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A young boy died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks succeed evenings of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.
