Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials say initial examinations show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.
A senior representative commented the attack made him without words and required to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in February 2020.
